Description

CareGivers America, a Modivcare Personal Care Service, is looking for an HHA/CNA responsible for providing high-quality services to our home care private duty clients.
 

No experience is needed. We will provide you with paid training!

 

We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and attentive caregiver to support an autistic child in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and comfortable supporting a child with unique sensory, communication, and developmental needs.

Position Overview

The caregiver will provide direct supervision and hands-on assistance with daily activities while prioritizing safety awareness and emotional well-being. The ideal candidate understands that consistency, empathy, and clear communication are essential to helping our child thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Supervision

  • Provide continuous supervision with a strong focus on safety awareness

  • Anticipate and prevent potential safety risks at home and in the community

  • Support emotional regulation and respond calmly during moments of distress

  • Follow established routines, safety plans, and behavioral strategies

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

  • Assist with all ADLs as needed, including:

    • Personal hygiene (toileting, bathing, handwashing, grooming)

    • Dressing and undressing

    • Feeding and mealtime support

  • Encourage independence while providing appropriate assistance

Engagement & Support

  • Support structured and unstructured play, learning activities, and routines

  • Use clear, respectful communication tailored to the child’s needs

  • Reinforce positive behaviors and coping skills

  • Collaborate with parents and, when applicable, therapists or educators

Household Support (Child-Related)

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment during care hours

  • Prepare simple meals or snacks as needed

  • Assist with organization of the child’s belongings and activity areas

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience caring for autistic children or individuals with developmental differences preferred

  • Knowledge of sensory sensitivities, safety awareness challenges, and developmental support strategies is a plus

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Reliable, patient, and attentive with strong communication skills

  • Physically able to assist with ADLs and active supervision
